My buddy had one around 1982 & we had a lot of fun in that car especially going off road! Crazy thing is in the '70s us as kids used to sit on the tailgate of my dads truck going down the interstate dragging our feet at 60-70 mph & ALWAYS rode in the back whenever we would go to town for supplies....yes we lived in the sticks in rural Georgia! Young folks nowadays {especially city folks} always amuse me when they learn all the things we did back in the day! On a side note...why are you eating the nastiest fast food there is? ✌💖☮

Well, the Jeep is considered military surplus and is a vintage car. So, it has many of the safety feature requirements waved off due to the age of the vehicle. It’s the same with most every vintage car. They are exempt from most - if not all - current safety regulations due to the age of the vehicle rendering it a historical piece.

Wrong driver side for your roads, the driver must always be closest to oncoming traffic for judging avoidance of said vehicles. Plus passengers can exit curb side. Historic vehicles are often exempt from legislation. Here in thr UK they're exempt feom road tax and MOT (mandatory roadworthiness testing). Any vehicle more than 40 years old is clssses as an historic vehicle.

They actually sell new models of the old jeep in NY that are diesel and the top speed is 55, legal for highway use. I was looking into getting a Europe truck that can do 75 mph but you can't register them in NY
